type='text'>What to wear for Performance?

I love seeing dancing performances, Flamenco, Tango, and Salsa.

Many of the performers have the music in their veins and show it throughout their
Performances, skills and passion are very important for a dancer to send her/his message across, however many performers forget a very essential part which is the looks.

If you are a monk you wear a robe and every body will know what you are.

Unfortunately for salsa performers this part of the performance is not very important and they dress as normal as they are going out to the local pub.

The clothes of a dancer are as important as the monk’s.

I have traveled around Asia and the Middle East and I have seen the same approach about clothes from salsa performers which makes me wonder if they have been properly educated about this matter?.

If you are a dancer, show it, not only by dancing but by wearing it.

Many ladies prefer to wear a black dress because is “comfortable” or “safe” don’t fall into that same mistake.

The Audience will enjoy your dance more if you are wearing a sexy, colorful, twirly Latin dress, it doesn’t have to be too expensive but something that will differentiate you from the rest of the crowd.

Your hair needs to be done up as well as your make up, wear some accessories that compliment the look, such as loop or long earrings, a flower on your hair and make sure that you secure it enough so it doesn’t fall when your partner is turning you around.
Shoes are also important, I have noticed that for many students and performers shoes is the first thing they need to have, It is very important part however a good looking dress is more catching as people will look at your body when you are dancing

For the gentlemen, a comfortable shirt long or short sleeves, made of jersey or soft lycra fabric so it absorb the sweat and you don’t feel wet.
Remember gents if you wear glasses take them off or wear contacts that night as a performer with glasses looses all credibility from the audience.

If need more tips please, come to Nila Palacios booth and I will assist you personally.

What Should I wear when I go Salsa dancing?

It’s your Salsa night! A chance to let go of your normal routine and enjoy yourself! Whether the place you go is a dedicated Latin music venue or “Salsa Night” at the local club you want to look and feel fabulous!

But what to wear?

It’s a question that many of us have asked when we go out to our local Latin music scene.

I want to look beautiful, while fitting in with the ambiance of the place. I want to be confident whether I’m a beginner at Latin style dancing or more experienced……and if I’m more experienced, I want my clothes to show off my moves!! I want them to spin when I spin and allow me to stand out when I’m dancing!

Oh what to wear? Don’t worry! I have been there too!

When we go out for our Latin nights we want to look beautiful and feel confident. We want to ‘feel’ Latin. Now, these days we recognize South American ladies for their exuberance, beauty and sex appeal. We only have to recall celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek, Penelope Cruz, and Eva Longoria to get a sense of how these women are putting their stamp on fashion and lifestyle these days!.While many of us admire these women it’s not necessary to look like Evan Longoria to look and feel fabulous when you out for a Salsa session. Nor do you have to take Spanish lessons! All you need to do is to choose the right combination of clothes and accessories!

Chose a dress that will ooze confidence, that’s the centre piece. Combine this with matching shoes, wear your hair either up or down with a lovely pair of loop earrings…and if you are daring enough and want that extra touch, a beautiful flower in your hair!

So, “where can I get great Latin fashion?”

Nila Palacios now produces a fabulous line of Latin music-inspired clothes. These beautiful dresses are influenced by music styles such as Salsa, Flamenco, Samba, Rumba and other rhythms from South America.

So call Nila now if you are interested in achieving the beautiful and confident look you want for your next Salsa outing. You’ll look and feel fabulous!!

Grooming and Personal Care

A woman is defined in society for what she wears and the way she dresses. In society it is very important to have clothes that show off the wearer in the best possible light. We all “think with our eyes first” so visual impressions count!

Unfortunately many of us take this for granted and have a habit of wearing the first thing we see in the closet.

Sometimes I can’t help feeling sad when beautiful ladies appear dull and without magic because of unflattering clothes.

A woman can create magic when she enters a crowded place by wearing the right garment; this enhances her looks but just as importantly increases her confidence and her passion for life. The trick is to know what to wear for each occasion without being too flamboyant or out of place.

Some ladies over dress, others may under dress and some may wear a combination of items which has no overall look at all: skits, stocking pants trainers and a jacket for example…! The person inside is always beautiful of course but this is what I sometimes call “the onion look.” There seem to be layers of styles on top of others.

Apart from what you should wear there is also the factor of when to wear it and how. We cannot go out to a ball wearing jeans and trainers or wear a T-shirt or jeans to go to the office. Every place has a code of dressing (at least by default). Unfortunately we are often so influenced by outside cultures, opinions and fashions that we forget our own sense of style.

Fashion comes and goes but style is forever. Style is the way you carry yourself, the way you talk, and the ability to chose the right clothes for each occasion or environment.

So practice the exercise of thinking about the environment or occasion you are dressing for and take a moment to plan your outfit. With a little practice you will see how people look at you and how good you feel! If planning is not a natural thing for you at first, ask someone you trust to give you an opinion of the way you look for where you’re going and importantly …. enjoy it! The better you feel the better you’ll look!

I will show you an example of what I mean.

Model A is wearing a T-shirt and a pair of Jeans to go to work.
And model B is been made up to go to her office.

Model A is wearing a normal dress to go to a party.
Model B is being made up to go to the same party.

Which ones do you think look more appropriate for the environment they are going into?
Which ones would fit in better (and probably get most of the compliments?)

So Ladies, the choice is yours! Every one of us can be a face in the crowd (everyone can get noticed too – but sometimes for the wrong reasons…..!) Or we can chose to stand out and let the beauty we all possess shine through!
