A woman is defined in society for what she wears and the way she dresses. In society it is very important to have clothes that show off the wearer in the best possible light. We all “think with our eyes first” so visual impressions count!
Unfortunately many of us take this for granted and have a habit of wearing the first thing we see in the closet.
Sometimes I can’t help feeling sad when beautiful ladies appear dull and without magic because of unflattering clothes.
A woman can create magic when she enters a crowded place by wearing the right garment; this enhances her looks but just as importantly increases her confidence and her passion for life. The trick is to know what to wear for each occasion without being too flamboyant or out of place.
Some ladies over dress, others may under dress and some may wear a combination of items which has no overall look at all: skits, stocking pants trainers and a jacket for example…! The person inside is always beautiful of course but this is what I sometimes call “the onion look.” There seem to be layers of styles on top of others.
Apart from what you should wear there is also the factor of when to wear it and how. We cannot go out to a ball wearing jeans and trainers or wear a T-shirt or jeans to go to the office. Every place has a code of dressing (at least by default). Unfortunately we are often so influenced by outside cultures, opinions and fashions that we forget our own sense of style.
Fashion comes and goes but style is forever. Style is the way you carry yourself, the way you talk, and the ability to chose the right clothes for each occasion or environment.
So practice the exercise of thinking about the environment or occasion you are dressing for and take a moment to plan your outfit. With a little practice you will see how people look at you and how good you feel! If planning is not a natural thing for you at first, ask someone you trust to give you an opinion of the way you look for where you’re going and importantly …. enjoy it! The better you feel the better you’ll look!
I will show you an example of what I mean.
Model A is wearing a T-shirt and a pair of Jeans to go to work.
And model B is been made up to go to her office.
Model A is wearing a normal dress to go to a party.
Model B is being made up to go to the same party.
Which ones do you think look more appropriate for the environment they are going into?
Which ones would fit in better (and probably get most of the compliments?)
So Ladies, the choice is yours! Every one of us can be a face in the crowd (everyone can get noticed too – but sometimes for the wrong reasons…..!) Or we can chose to stand out and let the beauty we all possess shine through!
